CampCo Recreation
CampCo is a full-service recreation provider that offers high-quality, fun, safe and educational children’s day camps, preschool classes, after school programs, pajama parties, CPR/First Aid courses, special event planning/assistance and many other recreation programs for HOAs, Cities, Schools and other organizations throughout South Orange County.
CampCo is seeking Experienced, Outgoing, Happy and Dedicated people to work as Recreation Leaders at our Afterschool & P.E. Programs in San Clemente.
PLEASE READ ALL THE INFORMATION BELOW BEFORE APPLYING.
All staff hired for the 2014/2015 school-year are expected to be available to work the full school-year. 
LAS PALMAS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Las Palmas Elementary School (K-5), located in San Clemente, serves as a nationally recognized model for two-way language immersion (Spanish/English) which helps children become bilingual and bi-literate by fifth grade.  
For the Las Palmas program, CampCo applicants who are bilingual/bi-literate in Spanish/English or who have knowledge of elementary Spanish (enough to assist students with homework) are especially encouraged to apply.
At Las Palmas, CampCo provides an Afterschool Program on ALL school days and a Physical Education Program on Wednesdays and Thursdays during the school day.  CampCo Staff may be scheduled as follows:

Mondays:

2pm-5pm/2pm-6:15pm

Tuesdays:

12:45pm-5pm/12:45pm-6:15pm

Wednesdays:

10:15am-5pm/10am-6:15pm

Thursdays:

10:15am-5pm/10am-6:15pm

Fridays:

2pm-5pm/2pm-6:15pm


AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM STAFF PAY RATES

P.E. & Afterschool Recreation Leader: 

$9-$10/hour

Recreation Leader Requirements

  • High School Graduate, age 18 & up
  • Ideally, some college experience
  • Experience in Camps, Teaching, P.E. or Afterschool Programs
  • Must be available to work the majority of weekdays during the CUSD school-year.

 

PROFESSIONAL TRAININGS/CERTIFICATIONS

A.  CPR/First Aid Certifications by a CampCo-approved organization
B.   Lifeguard and/or Basic Water Safety Certifications required for Directors working summer programs that include water activities.
C.  Additional ECE courses are desirable.

CampCo employs over 40 part-time, seasonal (summer) employees and approximately 15-20 part-time, year-round employees.  As CampCo is rapidly growing and regularly promotes from within, part-time staff may have opportunities for full-time careers with the company in the future. Many of CampCo's managers began as Recreation Leader and have moved up quickly over the years. Prior to employment, prospective candidates must successfully complete a thorough background check, which may include drug screen and TB testing and fingerprinting. Upon hire, Employees may be given 30 days to complete an American Red Cross CPR/First Aid Course.
